Seems hard to believe but I think it might be.
The government from all accounts is backing away from ID cards. Of course, only a combined cretin/control-freak would ever have espoused them in the first place. Still, we must be grateful for whatever small crumbs are offered us.

Is that good , they back off a bit asnd then they come back and eventually we get it right and then it never never never gets discissed again.
They'll be back probably after a round of home grown terror attacks.
Remember English Regions? Soundly rejected by the good people of the "north east" now it's English regions this English regions that all the time.
