Commenting on the IPCC's latest report, The Times today states that:
Heatwaves, rainstorms, drought, tropical cyclones and surges in sea level are among the events expected to become more frequent, more widespread and more intense this century.
But of course they are! That's why climate change is so wonderful! It can do anything you want! Anything at all!
And that's why I love it!
PS Anyone know what 'surges in sea level' are?

Waves.
or what we used to call "tides"
Interestingly, I had never heard the term sea surge until the non-floods of last week, themselves kept at bay only by the mighty King Bottler Canute, who commanded them to retreat.
Since then I have encountered the term three times.
Stand by for more.
What we had in 1953 and, to a lesser extent, last week in the North Sea. Only I think they are called 'storm surges' or something.
